Not so adventures of the St. Clair clan...

 It's come to my attention that I may settle a little heavily on the negative when posting about our "adventures."  So I tried to think about something a little lighter to post about.  And a week went by.  And I've still got nothing.  "Light" is boring.  What's not boring is trying to do real life with four kids under the age of eight.  It's also exasperating, frustrating, humbling, and at times hilarious.  So I'll just give you what I've got.  Sawyer has entered a pretty great stage.  We've navigated some really tough stuff with him, but we are starting to see glimpses of the other side.  He still beats to his own drum...actually, I think they are maracas, and I'm not sad about it.   School has been really good for him this year.  He comes home with stories, fun facts, and new words every week.  Literally.  That's his newest new word.  He uses it for literally  everything.   For example,...

 I may have mentioned once or twice before that our kids are...active.  They have a very large...zest for life.  Sometimes the house cannot contain their energy.  It has rained a lot in the last ten days, and I cannot contain their energy.   By day two, I encouraged the boys to go outside.  It wasn't raining that hard.  That was all they needed to hear; they were out the door in a flash.  The girls...well, it would mean I'd have to go out with them, and I just wasn't built for cold-weather playground duty.  I'm happy to be in the weather doing stuff, but supervising in the cold is not my cup of tea.   The girls were not thrilled with my choice.   The boys, however, took full advantage and dug a pond.  Each.  Each boy dug a pond.  Because we need more holes in places.  When they "struck water!" they came to me with as much enthusiasm as if it had been oil.  I couldn't be mad.   I was ...

I don't know where to even start.  I think, hope, and pray we are reaching the peak of crazy with the little girls.  If you're a twin mom and it doesn't get easier by the time they are three, please don't talk to me.  Or, alternatively, just tell me lies.  That would be fine.   The little lemmings want to walk off all the cliffs, and they want to do it naked.  I can't turn my back on them for a minute when they are awake.  It's probably good I was an ultra-runner before this.  I thought I was just enjoying the outdoors, but apparently I was training for motherhood.  This week we continued to battle naps.  It was a solid four days before I finally got the upper hand.  The girls were using naptime to practice their ninja skills as well their own diapering techniques.  I caught them trying to change each other's diapers as well as their own.   And I had a lot of clean up on isle nine.       We fi...
